The customer wanted us to comp her the entire price of the fan due to this. The "fan guy" as she called him told her he just had to twist something and that he would have only charged $80 to install it. Nearly a month later, on January 6 2021, the customer called in to the office saying that the company that sold her the fan came out to troubleshoot it. She later called in to our office to cancel the appointment with us because the problem resolved itself. ******* then rescheduled due to the fan manufacturer stating she needed to let it run for up to 72 hours and let the new fan go through a trial period. On 12/4 ******* called in to make an appointment because of a clicking noise and we rescheduled the appointment accordingly. Our electrician went out to install a fan on. I asked Luminous Electric for a refund due to poor installation service and over-charging me (more than 3 times the going-rate). He also told me that the standard charge to install a fan is $80. Nothing was wrong with the fan, only the way it was installed. He came and twisted the extension rod, and the clicking was gone. We contacted the store where we bought it, and they sent an installer to completely replace the fan, no charge. It clicked after running it for 36 hours. We contacted the manufacturer and they said that if it continued to click after running it for 24 hours, that it was defective. Later, when we turned on the fan to other speeds, the fan clicked. (They won't give you a price when you make an appointment, only after the electrician has seen the job.) He installed and tested it on one speed, and everything was fine. Before installation, he told me it would cost $250. Low Quality In Dec, 2020 I had an electrician from Luminous Electric replace an existing fan with a new one. Ask for him, agree to the Luminous price, and from then on you will be delighted by what you get. ****'s work was neat, and fully satisfied the county and utility inspectors. **** explains what he is about to do, and why, then does it! Being a naturally curious person, I often looked up elements of his approach on electrical forums, and he was always right. There were no surprises, and the final price was exactly as quoted. So I went with **** and Luminous even though their price was the highest.****'s work was flawless, our interactions were informative and enjoyable, and he started and finished when promised. Four other electricians checked out the job and basically flunked - either they seemed to not understand the how to connect my generators (a "separately derived system") to two different ************************************************** after seeing the job, never got back to me. With two existing main panels on two different floors, and a pair of bonded neutral Duromax inverter generators to power our house, this was not a routine job. After interviewing their electrician Jack ****** we trusted him to do it right. We hired Luminous for our panel upgrades and portable generator hookup.
